Director of Special Needs & Inclusive Education Unit at Rwanda Education Board(REB)(Deadline: 21st March,2022)

Job Description

• Special Needs Education Specialist is responsible for all matters concerned with monitoring and evaluation of the SNE Strategic Plan to contribute to the successful implementation of the ESSP.
• To ensuring the SNE Plan updated, monitored, and evaluated on an annual basis in line with the ESSP and NST 1.
• To work closely with colleagues and relevant stakeholders to identify and manage the appropriate level and flow of information and statistical data required for SNE monitoring and evaluation
• To work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the SNE programs are mainstreamed
• To provide advice on the procurement of special equipment and materials for learners with special educational needs in line with MINEDUC procurement rules.
• Contribute in researches concerning special needs and inclusive education
To perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Teacher Licensing Officer at Rwanda Education Board(REB)(Deadline: 21st March,2022)

Job Description

-Accountable to the Director of Teacher Management and Staffing Unit;
-Keep records of teachers;
-Prepare certificates of registration for qualified teacher;
-Register all teachers after their appointment in schools;
-Archive from the registration system all teachers dislocated for discipline reason or/and teachers who have been suspended from office for physical or mental inability approved by medical certificate from an officially accepted doctor;
-Develop a computer application system enabling the identification of every teacher;
-Maintain the computer application system of teachers registration;
-Manage cases of names changes;
-Collaborate with universities to verify the equivalence of degrees or certificates obtained out of Rwanda;
-Collaborate with relevant institutions to verify the authentication of degrees and/or certificates;
-Manage the allocation, availability and the backup/retention of disk and tape storage resources;
-Implant systemic processing safeguards to protect against premature data loss resulting from a manual error or software malfunction;
-Ensure disaster recovery protection for critical systems by designing disaster recovery procedures and testing them.

School Based Mentors Performance System Officer at Rwanda Education Board(REB)(Deadline: 21st March,2022)

Job Description

-Accountable to the Director of Teacher Management and staffing Unit;
-Administer Management for SBMs;
-Provide guidance and oversight of online platform for teacher management;
-Ensure implementation of REB SBM Framework, including alignment of stakeholder activities to REB SBM program goals;
-Design SBM management programs;
-Develop SBM management strategies and work plans;
-Perform preliminary database design for any data base needs for tracking and monitoring SBMs;
– Design and implement monitoring and evaluation exercise for SBM program activities in different districts and schools;
-Coordinate with Districts in collecting statistical termly returns from all public and government aided schools and use data to conduct analysis of program and give advice for management and decision making;
-Maintain regular communication with district education officers, school leaders, Inspectors, teacher training curricular developers, and URCE for the purpose of planning, monitoring, and troubleshooting;
-Coordinate with the planning department in the implementation of planned programs in teacher management and automation of such processes both at headquarters and district levels.
-Write and present projects to mobilize funds for SBM activities;
-Analyze inspectorate reports and other reports on SBM activities and suggest appropriate interventions for management related matters;
-Ensure timely production and submission of all reports and other monitoring data for all SBM program activities;
– Ensure reliability, availability, recoverability and performance of all database systems;
-Carry out periodic SBM management needs assessment;
-Evaluate the impact of SBM management and staffing activities;

-To advise food handlers on the proper food handling practices and ensure their observance.
